Violinist Stephanie Bonk is dedicated to bringing music to diverse communities and working with musicians of all ages. Stephanie is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Music in Violin Performance at Stony Brook University, where she studies with Philip Setzer, Jennifer Frautschi, Arnaud Sussmann, and Hagai Shaham. She recently also completed her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where she studied with Bin Huang and Renée Jolles.

At Stony Brook, Stephanie teaches undergraduate chamber groups and participates in multiple outreach programs, including an “Instrument Petting Zoo”, which introduces instruments and music to young children. Stephanie also teaches group music classes within public schools around New York City with the Harmony Program and Zeta Charter Schools. While living in Rochester, she coached violin sections at the New Horizons Community Music program and was also a teaching assistant to Renee Jolles. Additionally at Eastman, Stephanie was involved with a weekly hospital-music performance partnership in which music students played in hospital lobbies; at Stony Brook University, she is coordinating and performing in a similar program.

As a performer, Stephanie has received fellowships to perform in the Netherlands, Austria, and Brazil. In the United States, she has performed with the Syracuse Orchestra, Allentown Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Northern New York, and Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, among others. She also enjoys collaborating with her violin, clarinet, and piano trio at Stony Brook, which has been featured in concerts around Long Island.
