
Lamis was born in Cairo and entered the Conservatoire at the age of ten, where she studied under Dr. Mahmoud Mekhemar. She has performed in many solo and chamber music concerts at venues including the Cairo Opera house, and in the major concert halls of Germany, Hungary and Finland and Poland. She has participated in workshops and masterclasses in Egypt and abroad where she studied with internationally renowned artists including Catherine Vickers, Mariola Cieniawa, Ralf Gothoni, Lucas Blondeel, Ramzi Yassa, Yasser Mokhtar and others. In 2010, she won first prize in piano performance in the Supreme Council of Culture Competition and in 2012, she won first prize in the Polish Embassy Chopin Competition.
Lamis got her bachelor degree from Cairo Conservatoire in 2016, finished her post-graduate diploma in Piano Performance in 2018 with highest honors, as well as finished her post-graduate Professional Studies Certificate at The Manhattan School of Music in 2023, where she studied with Dr. Wael Farouk. Lamis is currently a doctoral candidate in piano performance at Rutgers University, studying with Dr. Karina Bruk and is projected to graduate in 2027. She has served on the piano faculties of the Cairo and Alexandria Conservatories, and joined the Bronx Conservatory of Music faculty in 2023.
