Admissions - General Information
The Bronx Conservatory of Music offers private and group music instruction for children and adults, regardless of previous experience or skill. Private lessons are tailored to the individual skills and development of each student. Lessons are available in either 30-minute or 60-minute time periods.
Currently, we offer private lessons in piano, strings (violin, viola, cello, and bass), guitar, percussion and voice. The minimum age to begin lessons is four years old. For voice, the minimum age for private instruction is 13 and subject to the approval of the vocal instructor. (Children's voices mature at varying rates.)
Group classes include Music Theory and Group Percussion. Tuition for private lessons also includes one group class per student per week.
Students may register for the Fall semester, the Spring semester, or both. (We recommend registering for both semesters at once, if possible, to avoid additional registration fees.)
Locations
The Bronx Conservatory of Music has two locations. Our main campus is located at Bronx Community College, W. 181st St. and University Avenue. Lessons are held in Guggenheim Hall on Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm.
We have a satellite location at Holy Rosary School, 1500 Arnow Avenue. Lessons are scheduled after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 2:30 pm until 6:30 pm.
